🚓Hampstead Town SNT Assists London Fire Brigade🚒

At around 10:00 hours on THURSDAY 20/08/2026, Hampstead Town Safer Neighbourhood Team assisted London Fire Brigade during a fire incident on Lyndhurst Road, NW3.

While firefighters dealt with the incident, officers helped maintain public safety by managing traffic, supporting temporary road closures, maintaining a safety cordon and keeping access clear for emergency vehicles and equipment.

Thank you to local residents, pedestrians and motorists for their patience and cooperation. Temporary restrictions can be inconvenient, but they help emergency services respond quickly and work safely.

Test smoke alarms regularly and fit a heat alarm in the kitchen.

Plan an escape route and make sure everyone at home knows it.

Keep hallways, stairs and exits clear.

Never leave cooking, candles or other naked flames unattended.

Avoid overloading electrical sockets and do not leave devices charging unnecessarily.

If there is a fire, get out, stay out and call 999. Never return for belongings.

Working smoke and heat alarms provide early warning, while a planned and practised escape route can help everyone leave safely during an emergency.
